Rachel Shaw Bowers grew up on the tropical island of Jamaica in the West Indies. After attending Priory School, in Kingston, Jamaica she continued her education at Wycombe Abbey School in England and received her BA Honors in English Literature from the University of East Anglia. After University, her love of the mountains took her to the French Alps where she took up the sport of skiing and then on to the High Sierras in California. She then went in the family business and worked in film editorial postproduction in Los Angeles for 5 years. After the birth of her son, the mountains called again, and Rachel has lived for the last 30 years in the Rocky Mountains. She moved to Telluride in 2004 and has worked in Sales & Marketing for The Peaks Resort, The Inn at Lost Creek and as Director of Memberships for The Telluride Ski & Golf Club for the last 15 years.
Rachel recently joined LIV Sotheby’s International Realty to work with her husband, Raymond Bowers, (aka. “Captain Ray”) as a new Real Estate Team. Captain Ray has 23 years of real estate expertise in the Telluride market. Ray’s expertise coupled with Rachel’s charm and connections will provide the perfect team to fulfill all real estate needs from beginning to end, turning every requirement into a streamlined and fun experience.
Rachel is an avid outdoor woman who loves to spend time with her dog, Redford and take on any challenge that comes her way. Her goal is to ski on every continent and has already got Antarctica checked off her list. She volunteers locally for the San Miguel Resource Center, the Telluride Film Festival, Mountain Film and has been on the board of the SPARKY Latina Scholarship Fund for over 8 years.
