After a decade of post recession minimalist design styles in fashion, interiors and all things consumed, the new trend is to MAX IT OUT. This trend has shown up at Fashion Weeks on the International scale with a showing of maxi shoulders and skirt lengths from ready to wear to designer custom. This trend is sparking new energy in the interior design world as well with florals and brocades, an abundant use of wallpapers and bright color hues. Let's hope you did not throw away the tassles and tufted pillows because all things big and fluffy and glam are back.
This International trend shows proudly at Annabel's in London. The exclusive member's only club is three stories of maximalist interior design with a discotheque in the basement. At Annabel's there are more animal prints than there are animals to print and every room is wallpapered, even the ceilings. Themes from African safari to East Indian/Asian mingle among the potted palms and Italian blown glass. Exquisite bone china and cut crystal adorn the table settings and the bars are glorious with backlit onyx, tufted bar stools and vested waiters attending to every whimsy of the elite clientele. This is eye cany on steroids.
